We’re looking for...

The Strategic Accounts Manager will manage our large enterprise accounts of utilities and partner consulting companies, ensure client success and drive steady growth in those relationships. To excel in this role, you should not only manage the needs of our key clients, but also elevate those relationships by anticipating both new challenges and opportunities. 


Job Responsibilities

  • Own and grow key account relationships to maximize value for our customers  

    • Understand client business objectives and how best to leverage Ekotrope solutions to achieve their goals

    • Adopt a commercial mindset and proactively identify opportunities to expand those relationships to provide even greater value

  • Drive the initial implementation and subsequent utilization of our market-leading program management solutions

    • Oversee the launch, onboarding and adoption of our products, on-time, on-budget, and in-scope

    • Train and coach clients on our product and communicate feature updates and upcoming product development pipeline

    • Connect clients with Support Teams to drive issues resolution and identify when escalations are needed

  • Cultivate strong relationships with key customer contacts and other client stakeholders, including local trade allies who support our customers’ programs

    • Become a trusted advisor and a go-to resource for our clients

    • Grow our knowledge of each client’s goals, challenges, and needs across their customer lifecycle

  • Serve as the “voice of the customer” within our team

    • Understand customer needs, challenges and priorities; be capable make a strongly articulated business case for supporting those client needs 

    • Deliver succinct and insightful account health updates to leadership and  cross-functional audiences

    • Contribute to the development of marketing materials, including case studies and general product pitches

  • Deliver and execute world-class account management processes and best practices 

    • Effectively track and report on key metrics 

    • Communicate effectively, lead meetings efficiently, and present recommendations be capable of delivering difficult messages when needed

    • Ensure consistent and efficient follow-through from client interactions

  • Grow our business through successful renewals and expansion

    • Partner with Business Development to deliver continued value for customers; oversee the renewals contracting process

    • Extend the reach of Ekotrope’s solutions into new use cases 

    • Assist with new proposals and manage the “farming” sales cycle

You have…

  • 3+ years’ experience in account management, customer success at a high-growth technology company

  • Strong interest or experience in technology, energy efficiency, software / SaaS

  • Experience managing or supporting the energy efficiency initiatives of a major electric or gas utility is a major plus

  • Technical Skills (another plus)

    • Basic SQL knowledge - Able to perform simple joins across multiple tables and select desired data from table columns

    • Generally capable of learning software programming languages for basic tasks

    • Strong spreadsheet processing and manipulation skills

  • BS/BA in Marketing, Business, Economics, or other concentrations

  • Track record of high achievement 

  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, relationship building skills

  • Keen problem-solving skills with proven ability to drive to action

  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced organization

  • A positive, can-do and self-directed attitude

  • A good sense of humor and interest in being an important part of a growing team
