5 Reasons to Join Us @ RESNET’s First Virtual Conference

The 2021 RESNET Building Performance Conference is just over a month away and we are very excited to share that members of our team will be leading 4 sessions throughout the event. These sessions will focus on key issues in the rating industry and beyond, giving you the opportunity to learn more about both the industry as a whole and how they may affect your business. Stay tuned for a future blog post from us with more details on our sessions!

The RESNET Conference is the “can’t afford to miss” event for the rating, home building, and building performance industry. Raters, providers, and home building industry experts come from all over the country to meet and discuss innovations, challenges, ideas, and everything in between. While it is typically held at a venue where people are able to meet in person, attend live sessions, and participate in various social events, due to the ongoing pandemic the event will be held in a virtual format. However, that does not mean the event will be any less fun nor engaging for you! In many ways, there are actually added benefits to the virtual medium.

With that being said, here are five reasons you should join us at the RESNET virtual conference!

  1. Flexibility

All of the RESNET 2021 sessions will be pre-recorded and made available for attendants to download 24/7 throughout 2021. Missing a session or having to choose between different sessions because of a time conflict are no longer points of stress! Additionally, you have the ability to hop on and off the livestream feed so that you can still take care of business, home duties, and the like. In today’s fast-paced world, that is quite a blessing.

  2. Fun Virtual Social Events

The past year has certainly been a lot less social than any of us are used to. Even if you are someone who considers themselves an introvert, I think it is safe to say that the majority of us miss human interaction. Thankfully, the RESNET Conference will be a great opportunity to *safely* connect with other individuals in the industry and have a little fun during events like virtual morning workouts and cocktail making classes! Additionally, there will be opportunities to message other attendees, ask questions during live presentations, and connect with companies in the virtual exhibit hall. Here at Ekotrope we are very excited to have the chance to connect with all of you and chat, even if it’s via a Zoom call!

  3. Savings & Access

Attending a virtual conference as opposed to an in-person event at a venue has a ton of benefits in terms of savings. For one thing, you certainly save a lot of money on airfare, hotel rooms, food, drinks, transportation, and more. Plus, virtual conferences- in most cases- are a lot cheaper to register for so they are not as price prohibitive if you or your employees would like to attend.

In terms of the RESNET Conference, there are discounted rates across the board as well as early bird discounts and bulk pricing for teams. Learn more about registration prices here. Further, you save so much time because there is no need to travel AND you can take advantage of the ability to utilize all of the resources available without having to entirely disrupt your work week. It’s a win-win!

Having access to these sessions throughout 2021 means you can always come back and refresh yourself on industry insights from experts. Additionally, these sessions will allow Raters to obtain all 18 of the professional development credits necessary for certification.

  4. It’s Eco-Friendly!

As we all know, it is vital that companies do their best to lessen their impact on our ecosystem. Virtual conferences not only eliminate the need for travel- thus reducing the event’s carbon footprint- but they also eliminate the need for paper brochures and other supplementary materials that cause paper waste. Instead, conference attendees will have access to all materials in a downloadable format. This saves you the headache of trying to hold on to paper brochures and informational pamphlets and allows you to simply download any resources that you like for future reference. All in all, this makes for a much easier distribution of event resources while helping to do our part for the environment.

  5. Get Ahead of the Curve on Industry News

Like any year, there's a changes happening throughout the industry from ACCA 310 to the latest Energy Star standards. It’s important to stay ahead of the curve with the latest industry insights. There will be over 100 sessions available to download, including four sessions led by Ekotrope’s own Ziv Rozenblum, Cy Kilbourn, and Jacob Kamen. The sessions range in scope from data trends in HERS ratings to how companies are leveraging cloud-based software in their remote workflows. Not only will there be prerecorded sessions available, but there will also be live presentations over the course of three days from industry experts such as Jonathan Reckford, the CEO of Habitat for Humanity, who will be the event’s Keynote speaker.

Insights from these leaders can help you better understand trends, innovations, and hurdles in the industry that can better inform your business strategy going forward. What’s more is that, through the event’s virtual exhibit hall and messaging board, you will be able to network with peers and ask experts in the field about key issues.

Virtual conferences act as an improved method of gathering industry leaders together in a format that is more conducive to our busy schedules. It saves money, increases flexibility, and lessens our collective environmental impact- all while allowing us to connect and learn together. We hope you found this article helpful and that you are able to attend the 2021 RESNET Conference. We look forward to connecting, sharing our sessions with you, and learning more about you and your business!
