Best Way to Meet Growing Electric Demand from EVs: Energy Efficiency

Great news for green building practitioners! A report published last week by Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) and Signify suggests “that faster deployment of energy efficiency technologies in buildings represents the most cost-effective and beneficial path to supporting the growth in EV-driven electricity demand while also meeting global climate targets.” Energy efficiency (EE) is the lowest cost energy supply resource and also provides a number of other benefits. EE creates more jobs per unit energy than most other sources and enhances the quality of life and productivity of the building occupants, among other benefits describe in the report.
