In addition to HERS Ratings, Ekotrope can now be used to prove energy code compliance using the performance path of International Energy Code Council (IECC) versions 2006, 2009 and 2012.

What this means for builders today:

Ekotrope can now be used from start to finish on any residential project. Builders can use Ekotrope to design and optimize energy components, prove energy code compliance, provide HERS Ratings, and explain benefits of their homes to potential buyers. Using the same software for design, code compliance, and sales reduces the risk of downstream changes and saves time and money required to work with multiple software tools and procedures.

What this means for the future of building:

All the uncertainty and risk associated with evolving energy codes, including IECC 2012 and IECC 2015, is removed. Builders can easily determine what the smartest spec changes will be for their homes to meet future energy codes and can calculate the costs associated with these changes.
