Utility Programs Update - April 2022
It’s been a busy few months here at Ekotrope as we build out new programs for 2022. We’re excited to share the work we’ve been doing behind the scenes as we hope it will make running these programs easier for our utility partners and easier for our raters to submit their models.
2022 Program Updates for AEP Texas
We recently launched the updated 2022 program changes to the AEP Texas program. There are now three incentive tiers instead of two, hopefully capturing more savings and allowing more homes to participate. Key requirements include:
Minimum of 16 SEER for cooling equipment
Grade 1 Wall Insulation
Grade 1 Ceiling Insulation greater than R-38 OR Foam Encapsulation
Electric Water Heater Efficiency of .95 for Tier 3
Heat Pump HSPF of 9.5 for Tier 3
Specific minimums for Duct Leakage, Air Sealing, Average Window SHGC, % of High Efficiency Lighting, and more.
Bonuses for: heat pump water heater, heat pump installation, ENERGY STAR smart thermostat, and foam encapsulated attic
2022 Program Updates for Oklahoma Gas and Electric
Similarly, we’ve updated the OG&E program to include the new rebate calculation for 2022. The program moved to a tiered system and also now accepts multi family homes that meet ENERGY STAR MF 1.0. More details include:
Three unique tiers for single family homes less than or equal to 1,800 sq ft
Three unique tiers for single family homes greater than 1,800 sq ft.
Ground Source Heat Pump bonus
EV Ready bonus
2022 Program Updates for Energize CT
We’ve been working with Eversource in Connecticut to add new quality assurance checks to the program. Most of the checks are non-blocking, so raters submitting to the program will know which program requirements they’ve met right off the bat as well as any issues they need to address. Some example requirements include:
HERS score of 60 or lower
Passing IECC 2015
100% LED Lighting
New Programs Launched in New Mexico: Public Service Company of New Mexico, New Mexico Gas & El Paso Electric
We’re also pleased to announce that we now support the residential new construction program through PNM/NMG as well as El Paso Electric in New Mexico. These programs share an intake form in Ekotrope and raters can specify which electric and/or gas utility the home uses and submit the project to the relevant program(s). We’ll be helping out with trainings later on in April, so be on the lookout! These programs include:
A custom online intake tool
Custom QA checks for specific program requirements
In–app savings and incentive calculations
File storage to upload the necessary paperwork for submissions
